Ernest Boniface Makulilo
Founder & CEO, EBM SCHOLARS, LLC
The vision and mission of EBM SCHOLARS, LLC are rooted in the lived experience of its founder, Ernest Boniface Makulilo—an immigrant, scholar, U.S. Navy veteran, financial educator, and legacy builder whose journey reflects the very transformation the company exists to deliver.
Born in Kigoma, Tanzania, Ernest arrived in the United States in 2008 as a Fulbright Scholar, driven by determination, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. Through the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program, he taught Swahili and African culture while advancing his academic and professional development. His pursuit of knowledge and service earned him additional prestigious recognitions, including the Joan B. Kroc Fellowship and the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, culminating in a master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of San Diego.
In 2012, Ernest became a naturalized citizen of the United States and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy. His military service reinforced the principles of discipline, service, leadership, and accountability—values that continue to define his professional ethos and organizational mission.
As he navigated life in America, Ernest identified a critical gap facing immigrants and first-generation families: while many successfully achieved legal status and educational milestones, they often lacked access to trustworthy, culturally relevant financial education. Too many were building lives without building wealth—surviving without truly thriving.
That realization became a calling.

EBM SCHOLARS, LLC is an education, immigration, and financial empowerment consulting firm incorporated in the great State of Missouri, USA. We provide trusted information, strategic guidance, and professional consultancy to individuals and families pursuing educational opportunities, scholarships, and lawful immigration pathways to the United States, Canada, and beyond.
However, our work goes far beyond paperwork and processes.
